Jamii Teacher Training

We had another wondeful time with the amazing teachers from Jamii.  We were chronically behind in all that we did, but it was well received and so appreciated.  I brought materials for early fractions.

Here we are making our Fraction Piece Kits from construction paper!

This is a lesson called "Two Ways to Eat your Fractions"  about how to use the example of bisquits and chapati (Kenyan flat bread) to teach about sharing fairly.  Of course if you were to share one chapati with all the students of Jamii, each one would get 1/600 th.

Calendar time with pattern block fractions and monthly tile fractions!

Kay led a wonderfully practical session on grief management and strategies for addressing trauma!

Ann led the teachers in discussion on differentiating instruction and was our emcee for our closing ceremony.  Yay team!
