Jamii Dedication

The Jamii dedication was a truly wonderful and inspiring event.  Each class shared a song, dance, poem or verse.

Teacher Paulyn had Miriam, Judy and I come out and join the students in their dancing.

The younger dancer in the red pants is Tabitha, one of my favorite students whom I've been tracking with for three years.  She is part of the select dance troupe.
Some of the commuity mammas also performed for us!
Mr. Kariuki even performed a dance with the special dance troupe.  He is regularly one of the teachers who readily engages with the students and performs with them.
Basilus, the co-director with his wife Esther shared about their dream to have Jamii be in its own building and for his appreciation for Kizimani...

....and for our architects, Ron and Bo.

There were many songs of praise for all that God has done to bring this about.  Janet, co-founder of Kizimani and sister of Miriam was also with us to share in the celebration.

Miriam and Dr. Bob helped Esther cut the cakes which were later shared by over 700 people!  Many parents were in attendance as well.

Several times I was teary thinking about how much has been done in so short a time and how much this school means to so many children.  I felt so incredibly blessed to be there to witness this miracle that is Jamii School.
